Club temporarily closed following BG advice on Covid
March 16th 2020
Following the announcements from both British Gymnastics and the Government this evening, we have decided to postpone the club championships due to be held on Saturday 4th April 2020 and also temporarily close the gym with immediate effect.
As a club we have thought long and hard about this decision, it is not one we have taken lightly but believe that it is in the best interest of all club members under the current circumstances and the potential spread of COVID 19.
The club is still operational, and will reopen when we are able and the championships will take place at a later date, so watch this space. The Club Champs tshirts will still be ordered. As you have already paid for next term, the sessions missed will be deducted from the following term. Please be patient with this as we dont know what will be happening, but we assure you it will be sorted.
In the meantime we will be working behind the scenes towards the opening of our new gym. So if you are involved (or would like to be invovled please let me know) keep working hard.
Please stay safe and take care.
March 13th 2020
Please be advised that currently all classes and the Club Championships will be RUNNING AS NORMAL, however, please can we ask that you DO NOT attend gym if you are feeling unwell or have recently travelled from one of the affected countries listed here:
We will, of course, continue to take advice from the school and British Gymnastics. Please join our facebook page, Carterton Gymnastic Club and request membership to our members only page for up to date club information.
Carterton Gymnastic Club start building work on The Vault!
November 9th 2020
The lease is signed and we are very excited to announce that building work has started on our brilliant new facility, The Vault!
Opening in spring 2021, and created within two empty retail units in Carterton, Oxfordshire, this will be our purpose-built new home. Not just a gymnastics facility, but a community hub for other sports, groups and activities as well. The building will house a huge main gym, with a smaller second gym/ exercise space, a café and office spaces.
It has certainly been a rollercoaster of a ride to reach this point, but with an amazing team of volunteers, our inspirational director and head coach, Debra Courtenay-Crane and funding from both Sport England and West Oxfordshire District Council, it won’t be long now until The Vault will open its doors and offer sporting opportunities to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
The Vault will have a lasting positive impact on the Carterton community and provide a much-needed facility for Oxfordshire as a whole. Thank you to all the Carterton Gymnastic Club members who have put their hearts and souls into this and deserve the very best facility to train in.
As a Community Interest Company, Carterton Gymnastic Club is a not for profit organisation that believes every success should feed directly back into our community and we are excited about the opportunities The Vault will offer for the people of Carterton and Oxfordshire. We believe strongly that everyone, regardless of age, ability or disability should have access to a supportive fitness facility and we look forward to opening our doors to all.
We are still fundraising to be able to fully kit our new facility out, as well as looking for donations of paint, furniture, carpets and catering equipment, so if you can help in any way, please contact us.

We're building The Vault!
March 14th 2020
We are very excited to announce that we have now secured a loan to enable us to push forward with the building phase of our new gymnastics facility and community hub, The Vault. We are still fundraising hard to enable all elements of the gym to be completed, but can now proceed with the building phase, and expect to be up and running by September.
This is where we need you! Are you a professional carpenter or bricklayer that could volunteer a bit of time? Are you good with a paint brush? Do you have some new, unused fixtures and fittings that you could donate to us to fit out our toilets, shower and cafe? If you can help in any way, or are just interested in finding out more about the next phase of our exciting project, then come along to our launch event at 9.30am on Saturday 14th March 2020.
