The Vault Plays Host To County Grading and Under 8's

March 19th 2022

It was an honour to host the Oxfordshire County Grades and Under 8's competition at The Vault on Saturday.

We played host to gymnasts from Abingdon, Cherwell, Wantage, Kinetic and Kennylands and the standard of competition was high.

Our girls did us proud, with Anabel competing at Grade 2 and gaining the silver medal overall and achieving a commendation in her grading. Lydia competed at Grade 3, claimed the bronze medal overall and a distinction in her grading. Well done to both of you!

Our smallest squad gymnasts, the Pod Squad, aged just 5 and 6, took part in their first county event in the Under 8's. They all did wonderfully well. Ivy's best piece was the bars, and Lila, Charlotte and Flora's best piece was the floor. Well done girls, we hope you enjoyed your day!

Marking the end of our first year in The Vault, the Club Championships was a celebration of our club and all our wonderful members. We played host to almost two hundred gymnasts aged from 3 to 60 years and they were amazing! As well as lots of medals being given out, there were displays by our Cheerleading, Acro Dance and Sports Acro teams and a special appearance by an Easter chicken!

A special mention goes to Amelie who took home the Mills Award for Team Spirit, Gary who was awarded the Marshman Award for Perseverance, Elsie S who received the Courtenay Trophy for Excellence On The Beam and Evie, Chloe and Elsie L who were all awarded the Christopher Newton Ambassador Award.

Thank you to everyone who took part and made it such a special day, the families who came to support their gymnasts and a very big thank you to all our volunteer helpers who worked so hard and made the day possible.
